ADR-0007: Linux-first product, cross-platform development

Context

The first development machine is Windows 11 with Docker Desktop. The product targets Ubuntu 24.04 and AlmaLinux/Rocky 9.

Decision

• The workspace compiles on Windows/macOS for fast edit-compile cycles; Linux-specific features are behind cfg(unix) / cfg(target_os = "linux").
• The authoritative test run is on Linux: scripts/linux-test.sh (Docker) and CI.
• Benchmarks are only reported from Linux runs with recorded hardware.

Consequences

Unix-socket upstreams, SIGHUP reload and symlink tests do not run on Windows.
